Title: Help: IOS Reservation Installation Error

Hi everyone and finally I'm part of the community? ;D  How? Finally I've made the jump and purchased IOS Reservation, great except as I try to install it I get two errors:

Quote

ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package

AND

Quote

Installation file not found:
/home/********/public_html/tmpr/install_49ecce52366a7/

Ehhh sorry a newbie: what am I doing wrong?

Do I need to upload it to my web server first and then install it? (ie.: public_html/administrator/components/com_installer/component) OR
can I install it from my local machine, but the instructions doesn't say that?
The instructions says:

"Once you have installed Elxis CMS login to Elxis administration and navigate to components
installer. Click "Browse" and select the IOS Reservation's component archive to install. Click
"Upload File and Install". Elxis will install the component."

If from my local machine, do I need to unzip it? What if it's from the web directory does it need to be unpacked?

The second error shows I need to upload it myself to the web directory?

Any help would be appreciated, many thanks

You downloaded a full IOS Reservations package which contains the component, some modules, a user manual, etc. You tried to install all of them together! Unzip the "pack" archive locally in your computer and first install the component (com_reservations_20.zip) and afterwards any module you wish.

Ooops  :-\ i told you i was a newbie to Elxis....so I need to install all the different components one at a time.

Thanks.....it's working now but a problem....I activated it but didn't read some facts! There's the possibility that I may activate it on another domain name! Doh, I just wanted to test it!  ::)

Another Q:

If a new version comes, is it simply an update or does the current version have to be uninstalled ? If so how does updating to a new version affect an already live site in terms?

Play around, test it and send me an e-mail to reset your previous activation when you are ready to start working on the live site. You will be able to upgrade. The upgrade does not affect your current data, don't worry.

Note: You can install IOS Reservations several times but activate it only once.
