Title: IOS Gallery Warning: Elxis 2008 / 2009
Post by: rentasite on April 12, 2009, 13:02:55

Few minutes ago, i installed IOS Gallery for the first time. As it says in Elxis Download Center:

IOS Gallery is a gallery component for Elxis 2008.0, 2008.1, 2009.0 or newer

But after the installation on an Elxis 2008 site, i get this Warning:

Elxis 2008.0 [Olympus]
Detected possible incompatibility between the Elxis version you use and the installed extension. Apart from that, the software may work good and without errors. This is just a notification.
• Installation package is for a newer Elxis version (2009) than yours (2008.0)

IOS Gallery has been built for the 2009.x Elxis generation. This is why you get this message.
But Elxis 2008 and Elxis 2009 are fully compatible.
So, you have nothing to worry about. Just ignore the message.

I didn't want to create another thread, but is there anyway of uploading a complete folder of pictures rather than one picture at at time (IOS Reservation gallery)? One may have thousands of pics

IOS Gallery resizes, crops and adds watermark on uploaded pictures. These features are CPU consuming, especially if you upload large images. Uploading many pictures together will most probably lead to php time-out and the upload will fail. As I don't know how each server is set up, how powerful it is, how many resources are available at the time of upload, and how many pictures and of what size you try to upload at once, it is better to allow you to upload one per time rather than the upload to fail and generate errors in gallery.

Is this explanation enough?
