Title: How to augment the Number of Text Boxes (NewsFlashes) at the Frontpage? (SOLVED)
Post by: Sunlight on March 16, 2009, 16:06:28
Currently, Elxis standard Template (okto) displays only 3 Squares of Text for "NewsFlashes" at its Frontpage, (2 at the center-Left side, but only 1 at the center-Right side).

The rest of the frontpage is taken by 2 other Squares showing the "Also read" and the "Latest News" Headlines, followed by a series of main Texts directly published at the Frontpage. (All this being surrounded by 2 Columns, Left and Right).

>>> The problem is that this Structure wastes more than a Square of Space, leaving it empty, without any content !
But we need to use any available space to publish at the frontpage the maximum of News content...

=> How could we augment the Number of Text Squares ("NewsFlashes") to display at the Frontpage, from 3 to 4 ?

(i.e., in order to have, in addition to the 2 at the center-Left side, also 2 -instead of only 1 as now- at the center-Right side).

Thanks, if possible, for a clear and efficient reply...

modules>>site modules>>frontpage:

Columns:       2
Count:       10
# Intro:            3

intro(-)count= 7 read also

if

intro=10 & count=10 then read-also disappear and you have 10 boxes only

In the present case (see above) you obviously mean that we can augment the Number of Boxes, from 3 into 4, etc. : "# Intro:            4"

=> It works fine !

+ Thanks also for the other explanations (on "Read-also", etc), ks-net.
They are crystal-clear.

(P.S. : Elxis is really a nice tool. To save precious Time, the "Wiki", as you said elsewhere, or any kind of Book-Guide, should be published asap. for all Newbies. To simplify things, may be it's enough to copy-paste the text of "Help" inside the "Administration", with a few additions.. The rest can be completed via the Forum, which is, indeed, indispensable).

Best regards.
