Title: Installing additional components such as components, modules, etc
Post by: aldim on October 31, 2008, 12:02:44
I assume that I am missing something important here, however I will embarrass myself.

I have installed the latest version of ELXIS and the sample content with the okto template. I wish to install extras components and bots.

If I upload manually the files of a component (e.g. IOS newsletter), shall I place them under the components directory??

Trying to use the components installer from the Administration site points me by default to :
/htdocs/administrator/components/com_installer/component

Changing the above to the folder of the newly uploaded files reports that there is nothing to install? I know I am doing something crappy. Pointing me to the right direction would be appreciated….

Reegards,
Alex

Download extensions from elxis-downloads.com. All extensions are ready to be installed zip packages. You dont have to unzip them or to upload them on your site.

To install a component go the Elxis' components installer.
Select from the top menu: Installers -> Components

Upload Package File
Select the zip package you wish to install and click "Upload File & Install" ("Αποστολή Αρχείου & Εγκατάσταση" in Greek).
That's it!

Do not install from directory.
