Title: Redirect based on browser's language
Post by: datahell on October 28, 2008, 11:49:02
Elxis 2008.1 stores permanently the language information in the URL.
If you visit an Elxis 2008.1 web site like this: http://www.mysite.com then you will see the site's content in the default language. You have to switch language to change the site's language.
A new feature could redirect the user during his first visit (session) on the site to the proper language (if is a published language).

Example:
Site A has 3 languages published: english (default), italian and german.
A visitor from germany visits site A http://www.sitea.com
He will see the site in english.

With the redirect I propose he will be redirected to http://www.sitea.com/de/

Afterwards he can freely switch language back to english if he does nt like the german stuff.
This redirect is based on the user's browser default language.

If a visitor from spain visit siteA no redirect will happen as spanish language does not exist for siteA, so he will see the site in the default language, which in our example is english.
