Title: Problems with url rewrite in SEO PRO
Post by: theologu on October 03, 2008, 18:27:56
Hello guys

I have a problem with my site, after I enabled SEO PRO... everything seems to work ok, but today I used for the Menu an Blog - Content Category type and observed that rewrite rules do not know how to manage the links. I even upgraded my site to Elxis 2008.1, but the problem remains.

the url looks like:

http://www.abc.xx/content/blogcategory/0/56/  where it should be http://www.safebyte.ro/content/blogcategory/0,56/

I read about SEO PRO requirements and I think I installed it corectly.

Thankyou!

Neither of the URLs you wrote are valid SEO PRO URLs.
SEO PRO URLs for blog categories should be formatted like this:

http://www.safebyte.ro/blog/section_seotitle/category_seotitle/

Elxis generates this URL (SEO Basic style) because there is an error in your menu settings and/or in section/category.

Here are some reasons why this is happening:
1. Empty seo title on your section or category due bad site management.
2. Wrong language settings on the menu item or in section and/or category (run "fix language" tool).
3. Section and/or category's permissions are not equal to the menu item's permissions.
4. There is not a valid menu item to the section and/or to category

In any case this problem occurs due to wrong menu settings. Elxis' SEO PRO can not find a valid Itemid (menu item) so the page becomes not existing.
