Title: Problems with Mysql ... (40% of installation)
Post by: vespa_boy on November 22, 2006, 14:02:17
Hi there,

yesterday I tried to install elxi to a Server...

I asked the webmaster to create database acounts and the database that I wanted.
I checked the connection with the database by writing a php script and running it on the server.

Then I tried to install elxis and everytime that tries to connect and create the tables to the database it fails by saying "The password and the username provided are incorrect" !!!

I called the webmaster and he assured me that everything was fine on his server. Then I checked his Mysql version and it is  3.23.49.

I would like you to tell me if there is a problem with the version ... or I you have any idea what can I do to continue the installation.

Thanx
vespa_boy

Hi vespa_boy,

I am afraid, that the version of MySQL you are trying to use is very old!
It is not possible to use Elxis with that version.

You may try to use a Postgres db.
Does your hoster has support for Postgres database and what version it is?
