Elxis CMS is a true multilingual application that fully supports UTF-8 encoding. The functionality is developed inside the core. No extra addons are needed.
Based on selected language you can control the appearance of the site. For example, your English speaking site, may looking totally different from your Greek or German, or... speaking sites.
Both the front end (what visitors see) and the back end (administration) is multilingual. At any time you can switch the language. All the interface, messages, help tips, etc are rentered to the selected language.
Elxis can support as much as 30 different languages in the same time.
The front-end and the back-end languages are independent. For example, you may have 15 installed languages for the front-end and only 5 of them published (available). For the back-end you may select different languages. If for example you speak German, you may fill more comfortable to view the administrator's interface in German, although you preparing a web site with content in English and Greek.

Welcome aboard!
I saw that your email is from Germany. I would like to ask you to spread the word about Elxis in Germany.
It also would be very nice to try and tell us how to find people to volunteer to translate the backend to German language.
Germans are funs of open source software. Maybe some will come up and volunteer.
Please check the Translation Guidelines in the language that best suits you:
English: https://www.elxis.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=48&Itemid=94&mylang=english
Greek: https://www.elxis.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=95&mylang=greek
Thank you

If we will have more components - modules - languages, compatible with the Elxis, more attractive will be for all us and our customers, especially with the great and unique technical support from the Elxis team.

Hi,
I work since 1995 as IT trainer in the field of carrier networking, linux migration and security. I'm planning a new seminar series for the Chamber of Industrie and Commerce in German and for other Institutes as well. There I will include Elxis in the practical part, the teach how to maintain a website. I have about more than 500 hundred participants from different companies per year. So I think this should be a good marketing for Elxis. I hope that I can find partners in Greece also to organize such events.
