Started the development of a File Server / Mirror Managment component. Component will be used in elxis.org website for serving files from our mirror servers. In the future a Tool named "Package Browser" will make possible downloading files and upgrading Elxis CMS from the administration control panel using the same mirror servers. Maybe File Server component will also be available to purchase and use in your site. More information soon.

File Server Component is a different approach on the idea of a download component. With File Server you can have a master place where you have your files for downloading and other places in other sites (mirror servers) that share the download load. Of course you can have just the master server. Mirror servers are optional. With file server you don't have to add files manually. You just place them (through ftp) in your desired folder and then you press the create XML button from the component administration. File Server will generate an exact map of the served files. This XML must also exist in mirror servers. You can modify each mirror load, activate/deactivate a mirror or the whole system, give the option to the visitor to select his desired mirror or automatically redirect him to the nearest to his location. Files can be stored outside www folder (recommended). There is an automatic htaccess file creation and strong encryption.
There are alot of other features that we will talk about them later.

File Server development's finished and component is ready for use!
In the next days we will run more tests and debuging till the final release although we think that it is already a very stable version.
File Server consist of the following packages:
1. The Elxis component
2. The mirror package (each mirror server has a mirror pack installed - mirror server can be any internet location, no need of special software installed).
3. Some modules

New features and updates:
- Included file browser. You can now upload and delete files, create or delete folders. Browse master server file system. FTP enabled as the whole Elxis.
- Remote update check tool
- Reset mirror server errors.
- 3 modules ready.
- Updated mirror servers package.
- Full documentation in two languages (English, Greek).
- Updated the generation functions of the statistics graphs in order to reduce database and php load
File Server will be available soon to purchase and use.

Hi datahell,
I don't have problems with commercial components.
But I have a problem ... may be, with my eyes.
In this thread (https://forum.elxis.org/index.php?topic=149.msg699#msg699) you wrote: '... Component File Server (Elxis download component, version 1.2 is available under commercial license) ...' ... but I can only read in several threads - can you help me to see, where I can find or order such a component?!

The Elxis CMS File Server 1.2 component will be available for purchase during this weekend.
I apologize for the inconvenience, as we rushed to announce components that are ready, but we haven't yet made available to the public.
I will personally send you a PM, when it is ready to get it.
