Title: SMF Bridge - Cannot Access Admin Area
Post by: Superman859 on May 14, 2007, 19:56:44
I originally thought the error was because I had installed SMF 1.1.2 instead of 1.1 RC3.  However, after reinstalling SMF with 1.1 RC3, the error still occurs.

I cannot access the admin panel when using the bridge.  I click admin, and it takes me to a screen where I need to type in the admin password.

Next, it brings me back to my elxis site and displays the message "The page you are trying to access does not exist. Please select a page from the main menu."

The URL it is trying to access at this point is of the form:

domain.com/index.php?option=com_bridge&brid=106&option=com_bridge;brid=106;Itemid=45;action=admin

I'm not entirely sure how the bridge works, but somewhere for admin it is giving the wrong script to access.  The other links seem to work fine and send you to the right place (ex: action=search, action=help...but not action=admin)

The bridge path is right, I double checked it and most everything else works fine from what I can tell so far.  However, without the admin panel working properly, I will have to disable the bridge or remove the required file from smf index.php so that I can make changes - it would be much, much better to get this working properly.

Access admin area from outside Bridge.

How would I do that?  I tried just typing in the standard URL to get to the forums instead of using the bridge link and it automatically switches to using the bridge URL's instead, I imagine because it still includes elxisbri.php in the smf index.php

However, if you disable the bridge, then it still tries to use it, but instead takes you to a page saying the bridge is disabled.

Is the only way to access the admin area to remove the require(...elxisbri.php) from the forums index.php file?

Or is there an easier way to access that area outside of bridge?
