any idea about how to make a directory - catalog website with Elxis 4?

Perhaps could do this with elxis eshop. I don't know if will be avalaible for Elxis 4 version

Contact categories are not OK for you? You have unlimited sub-categories levels and custom layout per categories. I think you have all you need...
