Title: possible to reinstall TinyMCE?
Post by: seadhna on February 06, 2013, 17:00:44
Hi there,
I had unpublished TinyMCE editor and need to make it available again. I published it. and made sure it was also chosen in global settings. However, it did not appear for any content item in the CMS. Just code editing. So I deleted the bot hoping to reinstall to see if that was the problem. But I can't find it in the Elxis Download Center and the zip file I downloaded from the TinyMCE website will not upload - Error: missing XML file. Is it possible for me to reinstall TinyMCE and if so, how? Many thanks for your help.

seadhna,

As long as you did not delete it, after you publish it, you should be able to see it again.  Try refreshing your browser.
Also, I assume that you did not change the setting in the global configuration WYSIWYG Editor.

Hi, I did delete it. That is not undoable?

Ouch, I have to say that it can be fixed but I don't know how.

Just find that file (one you deleted) in original elxis installation and upload it via FTP.

If i was in your position i would take a file system and a database backup. I would make a fresh installation of Elxis CMS and then i would submit the backup data to the website.
- In case that you know what you have done (remove files or whatever) then i would follow the instructions as Ivan wrote you above.

// As we have discussed here 1.000 times: Don't remove any editor on Elxis CMS. It's not an separated extension. Each editor either TinyMCE for Elxis 200x.x or CKEditor for Elxis 4.x have been modified in order to cover the needs of CMS.

That is what I would do for safety.

Thanks for the replies - so easy to delete but so hard to put back! I am going to take this as a sign to update to Nautilus - going to manually copy over all the content from the site.

Actually you should take it as a sign that before you delete anything simply unpublish it.
