We built a new downloads center (EDC) for Elxis 4.x.
The huge difference between the existing EDC at elxis-downloads.com (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/) (for Elxis 2009.x) and the new one (for Elxis 4.x) is that the new one is included in the Elxis administration console!
To download, browse and install extensions you don't have to visit any site. Everything is accessible via your admin console. You can browse extensions, download them, install them with just one click, update them also with just one click, rate them, report bad extensions to Elxis Team and more. The EDC browser connects with elxis.org and fetches extensions live. For the developers we also build a special application to publish their extensions. More information on this by the end of August.
Here are 2 screenshots from the EDC browser.

elxis is getting better and better , every day :)
-
We are in a hurry to build the new downloads center as soon as possible.
Without EDC people wont be able to download extensions for Elxis Nautilus, so currently EDC is our first priority.
If you browse the new EDC live and use its features you will see the power of the new Elxis extensions manager! Screenshots can not give you that feeling.
We also build a new documentation site.
I will post more ready to use extensions for Elxis 4.x soon.

Speaking of additions, are you considering adding the social login http://disqus.com/ (http://disqus.com/) ?
As we have already mentioned disqus comment source has been implemented on Elxis 4.x. Here is all of the available comment sources: https://forum.elxis.org/index.php?topic=7032.msg45225#msg45225. You can change the comment source by visiting the parameters of component content. Analytically: Extensions->components-> [select] Content -> [tab] parameters -> [Show] Comments group of parameters.

Okay, I did not see that originally. Thanks for the update.

Slidorion module is a combination of an image slider and an accordion, displaying beautiful content through various effects. With slides linked to each tab, and accompanied by a large array of effects, the Slidorion module is a great alternative to the traditional jQuery slider. Multiple instances of slidorion module and Cache are supported.
The original javascript code was written by Ben Holland (http://www.slidorion.com/).
-
That looks nice. I have managed to implement
http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/
in Elxis 2009.x which is also very nice.
-
I think that it's totally different than slidorion module.:D I have attached a link where you can see some demos.

Nice, good job Stavros!

Module Simple Poll for Elxis 4.0 Nautilus.
Generate polls easy and let people vote.
I installed the module and tested it. I would like to thank Ioannis Sannos for all the effort. Yet, I think the Simple Poll module would be far more useful if it supported multi-languages.

Hector template designed and developed by webgift for Elxis CMS 4.x. Hector is a functional template fully compatible with all modern browsers, Document types and RTL languages. We used several technologies like object Oriented PHP and CSS3. At the templates parameters we can set between two basic themes (the Aqua and the Graphite one) and four different background images. Beside of general layout settings we can customize an amount of settings too like the column and logotype one. APC (Alternative PHP Cache) feature is supported.
// Hector 1.0: Template based on colors of aqua and graphite.
Download hector template (https://www.elxis.net/edc/templates/31.html) from EDC!

Very good and useful extension Speck
I used the module version already on a site i am building and works fine.
I have only one question. On mouse over of each title link feed i could expect and wish to be displayed the title of each article. As it is now it shows a general title "View this feed at Site name". I checked all module parameters, but i did not find anything relative. Do you have any suggestion about?
Thank you
-
I think this is an opportunity to write something regarding handling RSS/ATOM feeds in Elxis 4.x
To generate a feed use the elxisFeed library.
Sample usage
elxisLoader::loadFile('includes/libraries/elxis/feed.class.php');
$feed = new elxisFeed('rss');
$feed->addChannel('Some title');
$feed->addItem('Title 1', 'Description 1', 'http://www.example.com/article1.html', 'time created', 'Author name', 'media/images/image1');
$feed->addItem('Title 2', 'Description 2', 'http://www.example.com/article2.html', 'time created', 'Author name');
$feed->makeFeed('saveshow', 'cache/feeds/myrss.xml');

I have only one question. On mouse over of each title link feed i could expect and wish to be displayed the title of each article. As it is now it shows a general title
open the file jquery.zrssfeed.js and replace al lines 186 and 199
feeds.title with entry.title
i think is more right how is now the version create by author of jscript because remember to visitor the font of the feed if u not display it at top of feeds.
@datahell
thx for your tips... i'll try to do something
-
Thank you Speck
I will try it tomorrow and i will let you know.
-----------------
OK I just did it and works fine. Just the replacements are in file rssfeed.js
Idea: If you like you could do it in a next update as a parameter option
Grazie tanto!

Good job Stavro
I tried it yesterday on site i am building and looks great. Just i noticed that selecting number of items to be displayed it shows always one more. So if i want to display 4 i must set 3 in relative parameter value. Could you please check it?
Thank you
Now i noticed that the whole display has to do also with the height of the module area and the number of characters which you want to show. So if i want to show 4 items in module height 350 with 60 characters from each item i must select 3 items in relative parameter.
-
Thank you Niko! I am going to test it.
-
how to register in the new center?

Public EDC at elxis.net (https://www.elxis.org/news/elxis-news/public-edc-elxisnet.html)
@wbread: Till now you could only download extensions via EDC live in your Elxis administration panel.
-
I can not make modules for the site? ???
-
I found some missing links in EDC.
"Latest extensions" on the right are not clickable on search result pages.
eg.
https://www.elxis.net/search/extensions.html?q=download&category=0&type=&time=0&ordering=r&sbm=
-
They are not links, so they can not be dead links...
EDC is a work in progress.

Hi Speck
Working with your Module EI RSS Feed on a bilingual Elxis 4.0 site i wanted to display on front page different linguistic feed for each language assigning the module on home page. As you can understand this was not possible and datahell gave me a very good solution transforming a little the code so the URL Feed Parameter to be multilingual. And i wanted to inform you that this option could be very useful for a next updated version of your module if you are thinking to do.
-
u can create in your template some module position to be showed in base to the selected language, and assign them the rss module with feed in the same language selected.
if u have solutions send me the code i can implement it :)
-
All you have to do is to make the parameter multilingual like this:
<param type="text" ... multilingual="1" />
After that you must change the get method in php file to 'getML' instead of 'get' like this:
$x = $params->getML(...);
Read analytically:

Τwo new free extensions for Elxis 4.x were published today on EDC (https://www.elxis.net/).
1. Flowplayer module the famous open source (GPL 3) video player for the web by which you can play media file formats such as FLV and H.264-encoded MP4 and M4V for video and MP3 for audio.
2. Email plugin which creates e-mail link into articles, cloaking e-mail address from source (with use of javascript), providing protection against spam robots.
-
webgift, I have installed the iview module on a site and it's working well - thanks! Just wondering if you have any suggestions on a way that slides could be re-ordered without having to redo all the slides?
-
Hello @seadhna, you welcome. As it's right now it can not be done. There will be a possibility to add a new parameter for each image slide on which you could change the order.
