Hello,
I tried to move an Elxis installation from a sub folder to the root folder, in order to replace a web site with an elxis based one.
I followed the instruction found here
http://wiki.elxis.org/wiki/Move_Elxis_from_a_sub-dir_to_the_root_dir
Everything went well but when I 'm trying to view the homepage I get the following error
PHP: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/eedda/public_html/configuration.php:1)
uri: index.php?mylang=english
path:
version: Elxis 2006.4 Stable rev1080 [ Nestor ] 04-December-2006 23:08 GMT+2
WARNING(2): /home/eedda/public_html/includes/Core/elxis.php, line 407
In addition to this, i cannot log in to thew Administrator section (I think I get the above error too) and when I try to view an article in any other language than the default, the system redirects me to the default language.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is Elxis 2006! Where did you find that??? Download current version at http://www.elxis-downloads.com/downloads/elxis-cms/325.html

8) Well you are right. Actually it is a project dating from then.
Is there any way to upgrade to the most current version without loosing any data?
-
Easy way? No.
-
So what is your suggestion.
Is there a (preferably documented) procedure I could follow?
-
I found the following procedure and I could give it a try.
Unfortunately i'm missing the referenced sql file and the seo tool.
Is there aby way to find them?
-
I think it would be fastest and trouble-free if you just copied your content to a new installation. It can be done in an hour or two.
-
You mean install a fresh version and create the content from the beggining?
Just as if i had to install Elxis 2009 from the first moment?

Correct! If your content is not much.... it's better for you to start from scratch!
-
and if the content is much? actually this is the case.
Is there any possibility to find somewhere the sql needed for the upgrade?
-
You can start from here: Upgrade ELXIS 2006.4 to 2008.0 tool (https://forum.elxis.org/index.php?topic=2022.0)
But this is for an upgrade from 2006.4 to 2008 Elxis version.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Because afterwards, you have to upgrade to 2008.1, then to 2009.1, 2009.2, etc. It would take hours to do, plus you'll have multiple issues to deal with on the way. You don't have much content and you could finish copy/paste in hour or two.
