Post by: regi168 on October 17, 2011, 11:02:24
Hi!

I installed Sitemap component, and works.

But when I submit the sitemap url to Google Website Manager tool try to set up "website link".
I got 404 error from Google. Below is the code I submitted

Code: [Select]
http:www.website.com/google_english.xml and got Http Error 404   means Google cannot find it.

Could somebody give me a hint or solution?  Thanks~

The xml file of the default language : http://www.easy4trip.com/google.xml [Chinese Traditional]
English Lang : http://www.easy4trip.com/google-english.xml
Japanese Lang : http://www.easy4trip.com/google-japanese.xml
chinese_simplified Lang: http://www.easy4trip.com/google-chinese_simplified.xml

General XML file pattern : your-domainame.TLD/google-{name of language}.xml

Many Thank for the explanation by Stepsdesigns and webgift/Stavros

Now it is working, already successful.

But I check my root folder, there is no xml extension files, how did Google find it ??

Should I upload it  or fix the robot.txt ?? Is it necessary?

You are welcome, Hsin!
No. You don't need to change anything from robot.txt file. The XML files are created on the fly.!
