Title: from 2009.2 to 2009.3
Post by: seadhna on September 10, 2011, 19:01:38
Hi there,
can the files in the newer version "2009.3" simply be uploaded via FTP (as in a patch?) or is a complete reinstall required to upgrade from 2009.2?

many thanks,

No. There is no an update script for doing that.
It is required a new Elxis 2009.3 installation.

you can patch it...

backup your configuration.php and your .htaccess first and other modified files if any...

and then manually update your configuration.php and .htaccess   with your old settings

after all go to administrator>>components>>softdisk.... and click update-system (updates DB with info about  the new version)

Ps. ... doing a full-backup before start patching isn't a bad idea!!!!

All the contained files of patch (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/downloads/patches/365.html) should be updated as it is. As you can see there is the htaccess.txt file. So you should update that and rename to .htaccess
If you have made any changes to the existing one file just take a backup first and make the changes to the new one.
