Replace slimbox.js file with the attached one and the problem will be corrected.

No just i faced the same problem 2 months ago and searching i found this solution. Problem appeared with newer versions of some Browsers. In old one does not happen.

please check if the slide box is working of if it hangs. I've got same problem some time ago and I've found solution replacing not only slimbox but mootools too.
Here you can find the fix.  I've sent this fix to datahell to but I think he hasn't got the time to update download component.

For the specific problem which wbread mentioned responsible is only slimbox.js file.

Yes ... but since I've got the sliding box hanging using only slimbox my suggestion was to check if it works .. If not ... just use the file I attached here.  ;)

is the box where the most visited  download item are scrolling.
For me this box hang using only slimbox.js. I've got it working replacing mootools too.

Ok this one first time is reffered by you as as not working and is different from this which wbread and another user on greek part of the forum mentioned. Me also i had faced the same and only as wbread. So it is an additional one.
