Title: Comments and Captcha bug?
Post by: cfb1972 on October 20, 2010, 11:33:55
I'm having this problem: I write a comment to an article and at the end I type the Captcha letters but I receive an "Invalid code" error. Also, MY COMMENT HAS DISSAPEARED! This is very annoying as I've got a long comment in the box and now it's nowhere! Is this a bug or can be fixed with a quick hack?

Search the forum, we have answered already.
It must be: CHMOD problem or PHP temp.

I guess the sessions on your server are not properly set up. Do you see a large number of guests or something that dont looks normal? Check the value of the "session.save_path" variable in PHP configuration. Is it an existing path? Is that path writeable?

It came to my attention this again. Where shlould I look to be able to check that session.save_path file?
I've got another Elxis installation that behave in a similar manner and I'd like to fix it.
Is very annoying when you write the comment and because of a wrong Captcha code lose all the text  :-[

It has nothing to do with Elxis.
It is 1% how you have setup it & 99% from your server configuration.

Trust me I have really MANY installation inside the years, and into MANY servers.
