Hi all !
I have this serious problem. Everytime I am moving items from one Section / Category to another Section / Category, the system always combines 2 content items together !
To be more specific: I have created a website for a local newspaper, and the administrator many times is moving articles from a category to another category in different section. Then the system combines 2 articles in one, and this happens almost to every articles he has moved !
Why this happens and how can it be solved ?
Thank you in advance
Chris

I don't quite get what is going on...
Let's say the admin wants to move article a1 from category c1 to category c2. When he moves the article waht excatly does it happen? Article a1 is combined with what ... ???
-
It is combined with any another article...
-
First idea, you have to check the Sections & Categories setup & properties some where is a conflict such us name or seo
-
How are they combined ?? If the first atricle contains the introtext "Hello" and the second "World!", are they combined like "HelloWorld!" or "HWeolrllod!" ?? Or is the front-end displaying them in a row ??
Elxis cannot do that, as when moving an article, the only thing that is changed is its section or category id - not the article text - and no new article is created...
Could you please give us a url where two articles are combined ??
-
The administrator of the site writes only in the "Intro Text: (required)" editor, and not in the "Main Text: (optional)" editor
When moving an article to another section and category, another article is "entering" in the "Main Text: (optional)" editor.
check the articles one by one at the link below and you will see what I mean:

This is a 2009.1's bug. It happens when you re-order items.
Update to Elxis 2009.2!
-
Hi there,
i have updated to the latest version of elxis, but the problem still remains.....
-
The update will not fix the old/existing items but it will ensure that the same thing will not happen again when you re-order items.
To correct the existing items you have to edit them.
-
I am not talking about the existing items.
i have updated to the latest version of elxis, I moved some items and the problem is repeated to them
-
This problem has been fixed on Elxis 2009.2 and the move functionality has been tested. Are you sure????
-
Yes, i am sure... unfortunately....
-
The problem on 2009.1 was when you re-ordering items. Not when you moved items to different categories.
I will check it again.
-
I have been doing a lot of moving articles lately, and I didn't see any problem. That gave me an idea: what browser are you using?
-
I also did recently such movements on an elxis 2009.2 site and I had not anything of this you describe about. This was happening only to 2009.1 which I had faced.
-
i am using mozilla
-
I am checking it right now to see if there is any bug in this feature.
I will reply in a few minutes.
=== CHECK COMPLETE ===
I checked moving items from one category to an other within the same or even different sections.
I did nt found any problem. The content items are not get combined.
Test performed on my local Elxis 2009.2 installation with Windows Vista (64bit) / PHP 5.2.5 (64bit) / Apache 2.2.9 (64bit) / MySQL 5.1.11 (64bit).
Please use the updiag tool to check the integrity of your elxis site file-system.
Maybe some files are not updated to version 2009.2. Make sure you use the last version (2009.2).
If the problem persists, if you wish, send me username/password for your elxis site's administration area, FTP and phpmyadmin to test elxis on your site.
