Hi I got the Shouter module appearing on an autonomous page, and I'm getting an error now
Error 404
We are sorry but the page you requested was not found.

seems to crash on when refreshing and when auto refresh is enabled

I had faced same problem 2 years ago and datahell made me a modification on module. If you like i can send you by PM this version to try.
But from my experience with this module is not the best for chatting. I remember also here in this forum has been talked in past this subject and there were proposals about external applications. Search forum and you will find those posts.

OK. So I guess I better install Bubbles or something.
I already have the eForum working...
-
I don't know your needs. It's up to you :)
-
if I could get Shout to work I would like it
Now getting an error with Bubbles :(
-
Is it somewhere online to see it or you work on a local installation?
-
its online
www.fmlife.gr
-
must be an error with the database...
the shouter table exists in the database even after deleting the module.
I've also deleted the Bubbles component
-
I had not time to check cause you unpublished the component, but as a general notice for your site i want to tell you that you must take care about not mixing Greek content with English.
-
yes I know
this is for a friend and he wants it in english, but some greek as well.
How safe is it to delete a databse table (for the shouter module) and then re -install the module and see if that fixes anything
-
Send me your version if you like please. See how I go with that one
-
OK tomorrow you will have it. :)
-
I got it. Thanks.
Here's the screenshot I PMed you about:
Instead of the message, it reloads the entire home page.

Dont use greek characters in attachments. Re-attach the image with the filename in latin characters.
Your problem can be solved easily. Sll you have to do is to check the URL it requests against the proper one. Compare these 2 and you will find the problem.
-
I have sent you a good working, 2 years already, version.
-
yes. That's the version I'm using. The one you sent me.
Could the problem be that I'm using an anomnymous page to display the module? I wouldn't think so.
-
OK the problem was that I was loading it on an autonomous page.
Don't know why.
Once I placed it on the side panel, it worked fine :-\
thansk a lot
