Hi there,
I've recently installed the search module but notice that it is not including all website content in the search results.
Any ideas why? Content that is not showing up is in published categories, sections, autonomous pages etc.
-
1st see if cache is enabled... clear it!
2nd see in administrator/bots if search bots are published
-
Hi there,
thanks for the reply. By clear cache, is that to go: Tools: Clean Cache.
I have done this, no change.
For bots, the following search related bots are published:
Search Content
Search Weblinks
Search Contacts
Search eBlog
Search Categories
-
Just spotted the 'Enable Cache' item in the Search Module. This is set to 'No' however...
-
If I should provide any additional information - e.g. the website in question? - please just let me know.
thanks in advance for your help!

in each bot....
Parameters
Search limit: ?
-
Search Content : Limit 30
Search Weblinks : Limit 30
Search Contacts : There are no parameters set for this item
Search eBlog : Search Limit: 30
Search Categories : Search Limit: 30
An example of the problem: I search for a person's name that is mentioned in the 'About Us' section of the website, but the engine states: No results were found.
Could it be that the content has to be linked to a menu to be visible to the search engine?
-
1 -search term must be >= 4 terms
2- must be available for the current language ... eg. if you are switched to Italian you can not search English pages
3- yes must exist at least one link to page or to the category or to section that the item belongs
4- Content Item must be published
5- you need to have permissions to read the item
-
1: What does this mean - must search at least four words? I'm able to search other two word names with no problem
2: only one language - English
3: The section is linked - other pages in section show up in results
4: It is published
5: not sure what this means - one can easily view the page in a browser.

seadha can you give a link to your site, the search term you use and the content item that should be displayed in the search results?
-
What is this??????? You treat sections and categories as content items? The search is performed on content...
-
1. Go to administration -> tools and click once the "fix language" tool.
2. Set the search limit to all bots to a higher number (for example 50).
I have nothing else to propose, they might be other changes you have done on the site that we do not know and that are the cause of this dis-function.
