Title: Help Needed
Post by: benone on April 18, 2010, 16:46:17
Hi people.

1. I'm looking for advice on how to ping my newly created Elxis site. I was advised to create it under a sub-domain. Any techniques? Or does Elxis automatically do the pinging for me?

2. I want to use sitemaps correctly. Under sitemap component, google sitemap (google link) I found this statement:
"The xml file generated for Googlesitemap. if you use Elxis Seo Pro make sure you have the Seo Pro extension for Sitemap in folder includes/seopro"  This sounds kinda Chinese to me  :), I don't know what to do. Any help or clarification?

3. Do I have to use global keywords for my site or it's not necessary?

Thanks in advance.

You have that advice because google maps component is not a component native for elxis. As many component not native for elxis you have not links seo pro (and seo pro extension) To have the seo pro in these components you must modify their php code, create link seo pro, in few word you must rewrite all php code of the component, and create the seo pro extension.  ;D
Me too i use google map in a site (but i rewrited all code, not seo pro).
To solve the problem for the seo pro link in sitemap extension, you must define a module position in your template, create some pages in content items for every category of googlemap you want display, define that category of google map for that page in the googlemap module and apply the module at the menu page.Very simply.  (example www.milanotour.eu - see sections museum, churches, airport and train station.)
In any case if you use component not native for elxis, take care to use it.  ;)
