I know this problem has been addressed to satisfaction at this link https://forum.elxis.org/index.php?topic=3890.msg27632#msg27632
Unfortunately, I installed the simple image gallery plugin and although it does work fine, the thumbnail images which I set to 40x40 have somehow agreed not to display at all. Under I.explorer I get a red mark and blank spots under firefox. I have followed the tweaks on file permissions to no avail. GD library has been verified to be installed on the server so that seems I'm left with no more options. Any help somebody?
Thanks in advance.

Check this file
/www/mambots/content/plugin_jw_sig/showthumb.php
if the properties are 755 !

Hi
I have tried 755 and later 777, but same result. I've noticed however that when I place the mouse pointer on the blank thumbnail, I can see a pop up message with all the html tags. Is that normal?
Also when browsing the images under I.Explorer, a click out of the box does not exit the browsing like it happens with firefox. This is all wierd. Is there an alternative or similar plugin I can install? I'm already using IOS gallery.
Thanks folks.

Try Easy Gallery ;D

Thanks nick. I've just found the solution, a silly one of course. I tested on another live site and by chance loaded an image to find out the problem is the file extension. When I uploaded both png and jpg extensions, only the jpg ones displayed thumbnails correctly. So somehow, we have to include such finding in the wiki. And the file permissions have nothing to do at all with the problem. Again thanks.
