Title: Error problem using frontpage module
Post by: armpouniotis on February 08, 2010, 13:08:55
hi all,

i get the following error messages when i am using the frontpage module:

mysql Σφάλμα [2006] : EXECUTE
URI: index.php
Message: MySQL server has gone away
SELECT id FROM elx_menu WHERE type='content_typed' AND published='1' AND link='index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3528'

The same problem happened to me sometimes in the past, so i reduced the amount of the items.

Now, there is nothing i can do about it.

Any suggestions ?

thank you in advance

90% it is simple, you haven't set up the module properly.

&id=3528 how many items has this site?

the problem is this=>
Message: MySQL server has gone away
why this happen... ? a million answers ...
we need more info..

i think that your server just drop the connection because of a large amount of queries or other reason

Quote
SELECT id FROM elx_menu WHERE type='content_typed' AND published='1' AND link='index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3528'
what we see here is a query for a menu item... not the frontpage module...

we need more info!

ok, I found what is the problem. One of my published items was a very long article, (around 10 pages in WORD). I unpublished this item and now the site looks fine.

The problem was shown in the items displayed by the frontpage module. The same problem happened in the past as well. So I reduced the number of articles displayed using the frontpage module.

Thank you anyway !
