Can Elxis break large content articles into multiple pages automatically, and then give a link to the next/prev page at the bottom of the article?

Of course and can do this. You just have to use MOS Pagination Bot into any large content item which you wish to break.

Syntax: {mospagebreak} or {mospagebreak title=The page title} or {mospagebreak heading=The first page} or {mospagebreak title=The page title&heading=The first page} or {mospagebreak heading=The first page&title=The page title}.

At the frontend of the article is appearing a menu of contents-pages with links, to the top right of any page.

And at the bottom of the article gives also a link to the next/previous page
