Hi all ;D
I'm about to launch my first Elxis powered website and my first commercial website (it's been slow and still a long way to go!), so having to multi-task including taking the position of a webmaster, which is why I may have some basic questions to ask - do remember that.
So my question for now is:
Say I have my website all up and running, with all the data already inserted be it content in the form of autonomous static pages, databases filled with stuff (in particular IOSR i.e hotel data (rates, description etc), destination data, hoteliers, contracts etc), basically everything in Elxis and how could I back all this data up, like a mirror image or otherwise in the event there was a hacker, virus attack or problem with the server or Elxis/software so that I need to either do a fresh reinstall etc How could I ensure that I don't loose my data, including user generated data, customer data, user names etc
Is there an Elxis data-back up facility, if not what external programs or services could I use and how would I actually back it up?
Thanks for your patience in such basic questions....we're all here to learn!

You can backup the database data from within Elxis administration -> component database (SQL backup).
You can also take a database backup from within phpmyadmin.
To backup the site's files you need a backup utility at your hosting control panel. Many web hosting companies provide an automatic (daily) backup service. Ask your hosting provider for this.
