Title: Setting up a new domain on a server... which services do i need?

Just got some webspace and trying to set it up.
What services do I need for Elxis? (Apart from PHP):

theses are the options:

Apache ASP support
SSI support
PHP support
CGI support
Perl support
Python support
FastCGI support
Web statistics
Custom Error Documents

for elxis http://wiki.elxis.org/wiki/Elxis_Requirements

as for your own good , regardless or not to elxis, notice this below

linux os
php 5.2.x  at least
any cpanel other than plesk(it is the more difficult to work with)
mysql bd

costum php.ini  and .htacces support


prefer suphp/fastcgi  that mod_php for  apache php environment (easy handle of permissions more secure)


as for the others like python or perl cgi ... good to have.. no meaning for elxis

they all seem to be using plesk

Try to use cpanel is better and more stable than plesk !!!

Most of us are using cpanel ... i thing !!!

yes, but this is the panel provided by the hosting service
