Title: Elxis and Forum Integrated
Post by: exeshop on November 27, 2009, 16:35:18
Is it possible to integrate forum and elxis in the way that forum have template of elxis?

For example site is made in elxis and there is Forum in menu and when visitor click there, he/she goes to forum which have template of elxis site with all menus and it looks like elxis site ?

And what is the most recent version of smf which can be used bridged with elxis?

1st: a fully forum component is under development, name of it eForum.
Status: you can get it from the https://www.isopensource.com/ (https://www.isopensource.com/)

2nd: use any forum, use blank template for the forum & use wrapp / iframe to bring inside at your Elxis website

Bridge for SMF it is NOT anymore supported. You can check the legacy files: https://www.elxis.org/legacy-extensions.html (https://www.elxis.org/legacy-extensions.html)

This is not solution because site will suffer from ranking at search engines. It must be integrated.

Is there bridge for any other latest forum version than smf ?

Because I do not have access there, can you please tell me if it will be compatible with smf, so I can install smf and use it with elxis site and later connect it and integrate it with eforum?

- at this moment there is no elxis bridge to any forum(or other soft) for versions other than the old elxis 2006.4...

- according to what elxis-community+exlis team members has discussed at the past and according to current guide-lines ... it won't be any bridge to any forum now or later... bridges is something that elxis team not even thinking  about.. bridges are not the best solution... they raise more problems  than giving a solution...the weakest part of them is the security.. elxis-team wont sacrifice the security  of your sites!

- about the end of this year - as we hope-  it will be released the new eforum component which will be  fully compatible with elxis...

- eforum will be a full functionality forum with all those characteristics that other forums have...

-there is a thought(it is not a promise) to build a script that will import data from smf forums to  eforum...

these are all that the topic that you have not access talking about...

Note that there is no certain timeline for the official or a beta release of eforum component... as i said we hope that it will be released to public at the end of the year!
I will suggest to wait for it.. it will be the best solution for our elxis sites!
