What are permissions of modules folder? If it is 755, just chmod it to 777. After installation, chmod it back to 755.

/usr/home/isalon/domains/comsalon.nl/public_html/temp/mod_bookmarkus.php

Your PHP's temporary directory is inside the public www folder! This is a security risk!

ftp or not it keeps telling me upload error

but the upload is not the error because the is uploaded and partial installed,

after trying to install files appear in the modules dir files are there
but the installation is abordid  and the module is not visible

the same happens when i tried to install a template, witch i did to see what wood happen then.

for now i have 2 testing sites one with 2009.1 and one with 2009.0

they both install everthing, but my real site does not.

they are both at the same server
and yes the first thing is installing via edc.

i have a sub site (for testing) clean and new installation with a standaard dbase (from install) everything works perfect.
form mysite witch is online and working. i take the dbase and put this in the dbase off the sub site,  template, com_, mod do not install.
not from edc, not from upload and not from a temp dir.

when i put back the original dbase everything is fine and install works perefct.

on the testsite i put back mysite dbase again and tried it again when I was explaining my wife what was going on.

i showed her the changeing off the dbase to let herr see what would happen, and believe me or not everything worked.

I even was preparing screenshots for all off you.

so iff you ask me what was wrong " i do not know"
maybe a hair on the hd off the server.

anyway thanks to all for your input.

ps the bookmark us from the edc is double zipped, and does not install from edc ( at least not on my server)

thanks all
