Title: Front page problem
Post by: epaz on August 28, 2009, 17:11:16
Hello, I am using Elxis 2008.0
I have 5 content items published and the same 5 are registered as front page items. When I type www.mydomain.xyz I can see these 5 but when I click on the "Home" link in the menu I get a picture of the same 5 items but this list is ordered differently. This order is correct since it matches what I have input in Front page manager. So the question is: When hitting the www.mydomain.xyz where the elxis engine go?

Any help appreciated.

page's way-of-listing, back-buttons and other...  controlled by menu-links....

visit menu manager>yourmenu  and config that home-link accordinally

Please take a look at www.technologic.gr. You will see 5 content items. Hit the "Home" link. You will see the same 5 items with different order (this is the correct one).
My question is why these 2 views are different? it seems to me that hitting www.technologic.gr leads somewhere else reading items and constructing the page differently.

hi akash01.. welcome to our community.

you need first to distinguish what that 7 first items are, how they assigned to your home page?

1- by setting content-items to be published to your home page?
2- Automatically by the frontpage-module?

how to config that list in each case?
1- by modifying your link to home page... look for the parameter "order"  "#intro" "#columns" etc.. in case that you choose ordering by  "frontpage-ordering" then the ordering is configurable by frontpage-manager(under content tab)
2- configure as needed the frontpage-module!

Note: in case that we have more than one links pointing to home page, in the same or in different menus, then each link must be configured separately, links are setting the way of listing!

which link is  the default  home-page? the one that will be accessible when visiting my domain?
the first link in main menu! Read more about home-link and how to setup frontpage (http://wiki.elxis.org/wiki/Frontpage_setup) which is relative(reacts) to what we are talking about here and in many cases can confuse users
