Of course also because the problems are two ;D ;D ;D
problem one:
the problem in the header of front-end there's when in the title of content item you type a string like these:
Mi appare "ELXIS FLOOD PROTECTION. Too many requests!...". Perchè?
or
Problema con l'installazione delle estensioni su Win Server IIS.
problem two:
if you type the same strings in the field "Menu Item Name" in "link to the menu" of the content item,
these error ("\ELXIS...... and l\'installazione.....) there are also not in front-end but in back- end in the menu list and in the fields "name" and "ordering"
in Edit Menu Item :: Link - Content Item.
If you retype the string o trype a new string directly in the field "name" of edit menu item, in the back-end after apply or save works fine.

Yes Stavros ;D Do not!
Question to datahell: Apart from single or double quotes... we can use the & symbol or not, in titles??
-
It is bad practice to use special characters in titles, in general. The titles also appear in RSS feeds, in sitemap XML, in pages title, etc. If you want to be sure that the title will not destroy your page validity avoid using such characters.
Avoid these (may generate problems or they are useless): < > " ' % $ # ` & ^ \ / | * { } [ ] @
Use without problem: ! ( ) - _ + = ? ; . ,
Instead of & use and

Yes i have noticed the & symbol creating problems! Even from 2006.4 version. I just wanted to make that clear.
thnx

We could easily add a filter to strip these symbols out. But we don't want Elxis to change your titles. Elxis gives you the freedom to add any title you wish, even wrong ones. It is up to the final user how he uses Elxis and how well is informed about SEO and some web related issues. See how "clean" the titles are on elxis.org.

I Like this Freedom! ;D

I was just searching for this. Are apostrophes allowed in the menu item titles?
Example: Webmaster's
