Would anybody know a way to display the number of RSS subscriptions on the front page, preferably within the Syndicate component display area?
Here is what I mean, thanks:

You can't because there is no way to know who has added your site in his RSS aggregator.

some feed subscribers on particular situations can be shown in google webmaster-tools(a free account is needed )

Because readers can use other sites and aggregators to subscribe to your content, your total number of subscribers from all sources may be higher.

You can also choose to submit your feed as a Sitemap. A Sitemap is a useful way of telling Google about pages on your site we might not otherwise discover. More information about Sitemaps.
Webmaster Tools subscriber stats reflect known subscribers to feeds hosted on your verified domain (http://www.example.com). FeedBurner sees all requests for your feeds. If a Google user is subscribed to the FeedBurner version of your feed (for example, http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourfeed or http://feeds.example.com/yourfeed), this information will not be reflected in Webmaster Tools subscriber stats, but it will be included in your FeedBurner stats.
datahell is right ... no way to have a completely view of the number of subscribers to your feeds!
