Title: Front page error: no items to display

I installed Elxis without any content. After creating some sections, categories and content items nothing appeared on the front page.

Front page shows the following error: Warning! There are no items to display.

Front page manager shows all items that suppose to be visible as "published" in the backend, but nothing actually appears in the front end....
Same content items appear OK when I navigate to them via a menu.
Other modules appear normally on all pages (including side bars on the front page), only displaying content on the  Front Page is a problem.

I checked the database, content items appear in the content table.
SEO pro is enabled and seem to be working. 
All folders have permission 755 (except for recommended for 777) and files are 644.
Newly created items - all ticked to appear on the front page.

I checked the forum, but could not find the answer.  Would somebody know what to check or to do, or should I reinstall elxis with a sample content?

it is very simple...

just create and  publish a menu-link(better in main menu) to component frontpage

elxis won't show any content if you don't create a link to it...  this rule is take place  almost always...

of course this is not used for every content-item ... i mean that you don't have to create thousands of links for ever content-item in a specific category or section..
you only need to  make link to the category or to a section... then the others(items etc.) will follow.

Also, you might want to check if your content is published for appropriate languages. Try admin->tools->fix language. You may try what ks-net suggested, and remember that first item in main menu will always be your front page.

must suppose that he has first to create links before start looking for other reasons.
so i think that at this time all that he has to do , after cats-section he said that created  is to proceed to links

Thanks a lot, I created a new menu link to the Front Page component and immedeately front page content appeared without problems.

Actually, when I installed elxis without content it did install several menu items (including Home and Αρχική for all languages), that is why I though it would automatically display the content.  Apparently it didn't work without another menu link to the Front Page component. 

Now I also unpublished the new link and the original Home and Archiki pages still display content without problems.
