Title: newbie, cant edit
Post by: fiftyseven on November 19, 2008, 04:38:39
This may be a VERY dumb question.  But I've killed a bit of time trying to figure it out.

Installation was fine, I even got the SEO friendly URL's ok.

But I cant get rid of all this content.  Every page looks like the demo version, all these sections and categoreies I wanted to delete, but it wont let me.  Basically I dont want the content that the installation has given me.  I want to start from a new clean design and use my logo, etc.

Hi and welcome,
Can you please explain what kind of problem exactly do you have when you try to delete those content items?

i want to get rid of categories i get

"Category(s): Δημόσιο τμήμα\\\', \\\'ΣΔΠ Elxis cannot be removed as they contain records"

Do i have to manually get rid of each item?

Quicker way: Go to Content / All Content Items and overthere u will see everyting. All the articles! Delete them from there. Make sure to go also to the Trash Manager and empty the content items. After that, u will have a clean elxis installation. Its like deleting files through windows. U must empty your Recycle bin also!!!

Notice: When u installed Elxis... u were asked if u wanted an installation with or without content  ;)

Thanks, that worked to some extent.

I know it asked me if i wanted an installation with or without content - i picked with on purpose so i could give it a look initially.  Basically I wanted content and the ability to delete it later.

So now I've gotten rid of the content, how do I get rid of the design layout?  Do they have to be installed templates, or can i design my own?

You can choice a template from http://www.elxis-downloads.com/elxis-templates/ (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/elxis-templates/) and install this one.
