Title: Tiny Editor cannot save settings
Post by: rentasite on November 01, 2008, 01:12:45

Hi,

i have an Elxis 2008.0 installation upgraded to 2008.1  - The problem is that when i use the editor... the styles i give to the text (bold, italic, colors, font size exc) are not saved after i press the Save button. I return back and i find the text as it was!

The only way to modify the appearance of the text, is to open the HTML box and insert the html code that will change the text as i want  ??? ::) ???

Any idea for this problem?

Try using Shift + Enter for spaces between paragraphs.

So, you say that you make something, let's say, bold, you click save and when you re-open the content item it is not bold?
This is very weird and I have never seen something like this. Are you sure that it is not bold? Maybe your template's css affects the visual appearance of the content items. Did you check if it is indeed bold in html? Turn the editor in html mode and see it if it bold there.

There is not problem with TinyMCE...

I loaded also the OKTO template to see the Editor's behavior.

I did a mistake on my above post. In any template, everything is been saved.

What is not saved and does not appear is the Font Size changes! I open the "Edit HTML Source" and NO the sizes assigned are not saved.

The elxis installation is Elxis 2008.0 upgraded to 2008.1

Yes, you are now right. TinyMCE incorrectly surrounds text with spans with no font size information instead of applying attributes.
I will see how this can be fixed.

Yianni, before the upgrade using 2008.0 or even before with 2006.4, i didn't face such problem.

Ths problem derives from the newer version of TinyMCE. If you dont use spans ("convert font to spans") for styling font size it works fine but fonts are deprecated. So, you can only change the font-size by hand or by selected a css class.

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">content here</span>

deprecated method:
<font size="3">content here</font>
