Title: TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor
Post by: Thomas C on September 23, 2008, 17:45:45
Greetings.

TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor has developed a problem.

When I click the "Edit HTML source", "insert/edit link" or "Toggle fullscreen mode" buttons, the results window suddenly started coming up empty.

I have been unable to resolve this.

Can you offer any solutions or suggestions?

Thank-you.

Thomas C,

If you do not have any content, then yes the html edit window will be empty.  Same thing goes for insert/edit link.

You must enter content into either the intro text or main text window areas first.

Greetings.

Thanks for replying.

I should have prefaced my remark by saying;

"after I have finished entering my article in the main TCE window,"

and added

"when I go to tweak the HTML using the HTML button, the popup window is completely empty, meaning no data, no buttons, nothing. It used to popup with an "update" and a "Cancel" button along with the entered data"

I don't know if something got eaten. I tried to install an updated TCE bot, but then found out that the built-in TCE is a modified version and updates won't take.

So, I'm sorta stuck now, not being able to adjust the HTML.

I can switch back and forth from the non-WYSIWYG editor, but that simply isn't practical.

Any further comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

login at the administration area with the "www" before your domain: www.mydomain.com/administrator

Greetings, Sirigos.

I use "www" all the time. However, you gave me a clue as to what the problem was.

I have two similar, domain names pointing to the same site.

When I switched to the one that Elxis was installed under, it worked fine.

Strange that that is the only error I have noticed, for otherwise, the domain names seem to be completely interchangeable.

Thank-you.

Hello Thomas C,

It could be possible that one of the domain names is taking precedence from what you wrote and therefore you will probably have to use that one for elxis to work properly as Sirigos mentions.

If I understand you correctly,my advice is to login to the administration panel ONLY from the domain you have installed the Elxis CMS.

To figure out what is this domain check out the Global configuration.
