Title: German localisation
Post by: DrDaxxy on March 26, 2008, 18:31:34
Hello,
Elxis' current german localisation really can't be used in productive, professional environments. There are many grammar errors as well as incorrect spelling (for example, most formal pronouns are spelled lowercase although they should be spelled uppercase)
Could any German translator please re-translate it? I, and probably many other German admins, urgely need it.

It is not too hard to correct it if you know the language. Why don't you try and send it afterwards back to us?

I (native speaker) recently translated install language and corrected the other files. I did send these files to the board here. What did the Elxis team do with these files? I think it makes no sense for asking the people to translate and correct, each translator producing a different translated file, but the correct files are not provided for the community?

It is a main task of the Elxis team to provide the updated language files to the community, isn't it?

The files you sent us are checked and added in Elxis SVN (Elxis main release). Updates are published from the Elxis.org as part of the Elxis main distribution or as a patch (i.e. patch from Elxis 2008.0 to Elxis 2008.1) when we think that is time to publish an updated version or when a serious bug is found. We can not publish a patch for each file you send us. We can not also publish separately a new official German translation and leave the Elxis release with the old one. We had give you 2 months to complete your translations and we had also released a special DEV version in order to report any problem you may found before the 2008.0 official release. Till now Elxis 2008.1 has some small fixes (mostly on SEO PRO) and a brand new TinyMCE editor. We still have to make some other updates (i.e. ADOdb library) until we release Elxis 2008.1. We do not publish new versions if there is no serious reason in order not to confuse users.

Via Elxis downloads center (http://www.elxis-downloads.com) anyone, anytime can publish any package he likes.
So, if you wish your package to be published immediately just add the updated version there.
Don't forget to mail it also to us in order to add it to Elxis main distribution.

From the registration:
Notice: Elxis-downloads.com administrators have the power to reject your application without any notification. You will normally receive our answer to your application within 1-3 days with login data to start publish your work.

Ok, did wait since 27.03.2008, no response, assuming rejection. No problem, understood  ;)

Hava a nice time, bye
