Title: My New site

This is my new site based on elxis2008.
Still some work to do.


Thanks to elxis team for the great CMS and specially to Datahell ,Supernet (for the template) and to Sirigos for the Gallery.

Ωραίο Νίκο.
Μία παρατήρηση μόνο. Το site σου είναι λίγο αργό. Ίσως φταίνε τα πολλά ads που φορτώνεις. Μπορεί να είναι και προσωρινό βέβαια ή να φταίει η σύνδεσή μου αλλά έχω την εντύπωση ότι το μέγεθος των σελίδων σου σε kb είναι πολύ μεγάλο.

Τα ads τα μείωσα και μου δώσανε κάτι λίγο παρακάτω . Μείωσα και τις φωτογραφίες στην αρχική σελίδα. Το πρόβλημα πρέπει να είναι στην εκκίνηση λογικά πρέπει να είναι η απόσταση του server μετά όλα είναι κανονικά.

Παρατηρώ ότι οι φωτογραφίες αλλάζουν θέση στον FF όταν αλλάζω γλώσσες ενώ σε ΙΕ και opera είναι οκ.

Νίκο, έχεις ενεργοποιήσει τον Defender και μάλιστα "φορτωμένο" ?

Ναι με το που στήνω κάτι. Στον defender έχω 11 φίλτρα . Θα το δοκιμάσω με λιγότερα για το θέμα της ταχύτητας. Ενημερώνω σε λίγο.

Καμία διαφορά σε ταχύτητα με τον defender απενεργοποιημένο. Το πρόβλημα είναι στις φωτογραφίες στο κείμενο από 48.61 seconds σε 56 Κ πέφτει στα 33.60 seconds.

Γεια χαρά σε όλους

Με μια ματιά που έριξα στο site http://www.sivotarooms.gr/ που είναι σε Elxis 2008, παρατήρησα ότι για image gallery έγινε, μάλλον, χρήση του "Couloir Slideshow Gallery Ajax Module v1.0.3.2" (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1014/Itemid,35/ (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1014/Itemid,35/)) που σε Elxis 2006.x δουλεύει χωρίς πρόβλημα.  Ωστόσο έχω δει σε Joomla ένα απίθανο image gallery (που ομοιάζει με το προηγούμενο) το "SmoothGallery" (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1727/Itemid,35/ (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1727/Itemid,35/)) το οποίο έχω δοκιμάσει επανειλημμένα σε Elxis 2006.x αλλά δεν δουλεύει. Μήπως έχει κάνει κανείς κάτι επ' αυτού σε Elxis 2008.x;

@nikos: Καλό θα ήταν να άνοιγες νέο θέμα συζήτησης στην ανάλογη κατηγορία γι αυτό που ρωτάς. Και θα πάρεις απάντηση πιο σωστή και θα τηρούμε τις κατηγορίες του forum. Εδώ αν πρόσεξες είναι άλλο το θέμα συζήτησης. Κάποιος moderator αυτής της κατηγορίας ας το φροντίσει plz.

Είμαι λίγο ευαίσθητος με τις κατηγορίες και τα θέματα συζήτησης  ;)

Sorry for the Greek language.
Our issue was about the speed of the site and the usage of the defender.
I check the speed without the  defender and was almost the same. The real problem comes from the photos 30K the logo photo and about 25K the other 6.
I cant have a tourist guide without photos so i minimized the number of the photos to 8 at main page (was 12) and also to the best lower resolution.

A  photo gallery is ready for the www.sivotarooms.com

This isn't a component but an external gallery who works in a different directory or subdomain and use extra database.
I like it because have many features and templates ready to play.Affiliate program maybe gives you something back. ;)
I think you can use it until there is component for elxis2008.

Νίκο looks really nice!
One thing though, and is just my personal opinion!
I always believed that the the header or logo play one of the most important roles as far as the appearance of the site is concerned.
I think you could do better with the image in the logo (elxislogo.jpg) and without significant increase in the image size .
The subject is really good, is just the quality of the images that is letting it down.
If you really want to keep this image, there is a simple thing you can do. From e.g. phptoshop just play a bit with the auto-correction, auto-adjust  features.
It will at least bring up some color to your logo.

And ok, I know it's not a graphics design forum  ;D

I m trying my best.
Always i read to max the speed of the fpage. So that means (with my knowledge) less scripts and less photos.
I ve change the photo because i didn't like it also. My page is heavier but the i think it looks better.
