How can i paste a word document into the editor and keep the formatting. I have attached 4 files to show what i mean the word pages are how it should look and the web pages is how it looks on the site
any help would be appreciated as i have spent hours trying every way i can think of but always ends up doing its own thing.

i think you should copy and paste your texts of word in a blank notepad file and then copy and paste them from there to the editor ...
now you can format the texts via editor ... also use firefox and use editor in full screen view to get best result
good luck

catflap,
Please remember that when the text is imported in Elxis editor is formated based on the active template's CSS. Because of that, it is expected to have differences between the word document and the web page.
For example, in one of your screen shots the ordered list has been converted to an unordered list and asteriscs where used as bullets.
You can follow Farhard's advice and try to manually format text.

I must add... NEVER Cut/Paste from Word, as your formatting code will be longer then the text you want to publish. If you want to avoid manual formatting, but you want EXACT copy of Word document, you may export Word document to PDF.

thanks for the advice i would love to be able to use pdf documents but dont know how i can get them to open when someone clicks on the subject. i am already starting to upload them in pdf format for the users to download. but still want them shown on the web page. so looks like it will be a long job of formatting them like you said i just did one and it took me about 6 hours to get it right and i have about 50 to do.
