What can be causing this problem...
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in  /xxxx/xxx/xxx/xxxxxx/www/php/elxis_2006_4/installation/install2.php on line 94

You have an old mysql version (prior than 4.1). If not:
Give to the db user all priviledges AND/OR open installation/install2.php and comment lines 92-107.
