Title: cant get email confirmirmation working

Im having trouble getting the email confirmation for new users to work, when a user registers they dont receive the email. im a bit of a newbe so if anybody could help?

these are the settings im using:

mailer - PHP mail function
mail from - root@keelingfamily.co.uk
from name - keelingfamily
sendmail - /usr/sbin/sendmail/ -froot\@keelingfamily.co.uk
smtp auth - no


i contacted my host and they uploaded this script to my site, seems to confirm there is no problem with their end, so its down to my config.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I was having such a problem earlier, but when I enabled SMTP authentication, everything was fine. It turned out it was server setting after all. They didn't know SMTP auth. was ON????

it is for many things , may be the email sends to the BULK/JUNK/SPAM folder
may be the ip of your server is in blacklist
and also may be there is a problem in the mail server of your host , and may be for the bad firewall settings  :)
