Is there a way to implement catchpa into the comments in EDir.
Other than that I don't think there's a way to stop spam comments in EDir - although I may have missed it.

EDir does not have Captcha images support. Do you have problem with spam messages? Does it seems that these messages come from a robot or spider, or they seem to be from a human hand? If you wish I will implement captcha in comments form and send you an updated version (free of charge of course).

Only got the one spam but it made me realise that it's wide open to abuse by either robot etc or human hand. Seeing as the sites not well known yet - only just starting I can only expect that it would get worse as time goes by.
This one was from human hand so catchpa won't stop him. I have his IP so can deny it and stop him that way.
Thanks for the offer of the updated version with catchpa, much appreciated. Yes I'd like it very much.
Cheers
Geoff.

The updated extension is ready (version 1.4). I will send it to you in a minute.
Update instructions
If you have already extension comments installed do not use the EDir's extensions install/uninstall procedure because you will loose existing comments on listings!
Just replace the existing files with those inside the new zip package.
The extension's folder is here:
/administrator/components/com_edir/extensions/comments/
If any of the files is not writable and you can not overwrite it, use the Elxis's chmod tool to change permissions to it. (administration -> tools -> chmod)
From the extension's parameters we can enable/disable secutiry images (captcha - enabled by default).
Thank you.

That has to be the quickest upgrade ever!
All installed and works nicely!
Thanks datahell for the great support, very much appreciated!

I said Ilias (eliasan) to send this update to all people purchased extension Comments.
Notice that it only adds support for Security Images (captcha), nothing else. So, if you are not going to use captcha you dont have to perform this upgrade.
You will recieve the updated version via e-mail today or tomorrow.
