Title: PHP errors....
Post by: nemo411 on July 10, 2007, 23:44:15
I am playing with elxis to see if I can use it for a website I am currently working on, but as soon as I installed it, it gave me errors about includes.

If you visit where I have it installed: http://nemo411.com/cms/ you can see what I mean.

If anyone has any ideas as to what is causing it (i even tried other templates) I would appreciate it.

Thanks, Chris

Ivan is right. You're having permission problems. All you have to do is make writable all those unwritable folders all the way down by the Directory and File Permissions table. You can't miss them they are all in red.

To change permissions, go to your file manager and CHMOD your folders to 777. That will make them fully writable and Elxis will install smoothly.

Also do not forget to load the sample data as you are not yet familiar with Elxis. That will help you understand how it works quicker.

Good luck. And welcome to Elxis.

I did, of course, a milion times :D Only two errors: one of them was mine, and one due to misconfigured server. :D

I hadn't had time to finish installing it for the second time yesterday... but just finished it up this morning... since the reinstall it has worked fine... no clue what happened.... but thanks for your responses guys!

It had installed fine the first time, but had shown some of the php scripts on the first page no matter what browser i was in (i checked in both firefox and IE 6)

:)

Now I shall get back to playing with elxis to see what I can make it do!

Thanks again!
