Hi,
I've installed sucessfully the free geustbook 'easybook'. The default language in the zipfile is german.
It works great.
-
Thanks for the feedback!
-
I get the above error whenenver I try to add a new entry
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: set() in /home/mysitename/public_html/components/com_easygb/easygb.html.php on line 160
Any ideas?
-
Give us the line 160 of com_easygb/easygb.html.php and tell us what PHP version is on your server.
-
My server is running PHP 4.4.7 and I attached the file renamed to txt.
Thanks so much for your help.

This is line 160: $mainframe->set('joomlaJavascript', 1);
You can't expect to find joomlaJavascript in Elxis. :D
Try to debug step by step, by dealing with every error you encounter.
-
Thanks for your help.I'll try to fix it.

After trying to fix it and with no results I tried another guestbook.Everything is working perfectly the component is http://mambo-code.org/gf/project/mambogb/ but I have a small problem. The component uses captcha engine for the verification and the image is not showing at the form. When I try to sign the guestbook I can't see the security code. The contact component of elxis uses the same engine if I am not mistaken any ideas why I can't see the code? With internet explorer I get the placeholder with the X and in Firefox I see nothing. I tried all the settings of the component. Thanks in advance for your help.

Elxis captcha is not the same. The image does not appears probably because Elxis has different paths and the component's captcha fails to initialize.
-
I had the same problem and the solution was simple .. change the folders rights to 755 ;)
-
It's not that simple... I didn't have ANY problems with capcha images. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE is a problem. This component is OK for Mambo, but it isn't worth a while to mod for Elxis. There is just too much to do. I think it would be easier to write it from the beginning.

Hi,
I am one of the Developers of EasyBook and it runs without any problems with Elxis 2008-Dev. Please, tell me exactly about the problems you have, and I'll try to fix them -if there any.
-
Here I am again.
I' ve just seen that you are NOT talking about Easybook. There is another Guestbook called "EasyGuestbook" ore "EasyGB. We are not happy about this Name, but what should we do? Try the original Easybook from www.easy-joomla.org and it will work!

This is good Silas, thank for clarifying things.
Silas official support Elxis CMS in Germany, so his easy book should work fine on Elxis.
