hello
I installed elxis_4.2_icarus_rev1634 and I have no problems with the item management (create-edit-save), including pre-configured in cms
I also tried locally, same problem and error

SQLSTATE [42S22]: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 'pubdate' in 'field list'

I also installed locally elxis_4.1_poseidon_rev1473 to verify the error, and this works

I believe you didn't performed a fresh install but you updated Elxis 4.1 to 4.2. Is this correct?

After you update files you must update the database, you missed this step.
Go to Extensions > Check for updates.
Under your Elxis version you will see a link to update the database, click it!
