Artificial intelligence (AI) in Elxis

datahell:
Lately I was reading regarding artificial intelligence and I think it can have use in a CMS such as Elxis. I need your opinion on this. Do you think artificial intelligence can help you or your site visitors in Elxis CMS? You dont need to read anything about artificial intelligence (AI) to answer. Think of AI as a software program with which you can interact or do some tasks automatically for you. It can be a chat bot, a digital assistance (like Cortana, Siri, Alexa, etc), a being that can do automatically some tasks (like write and publish new articles, configure Elxis automatically, take back ups, navigate your site visitors, etc, etc).

What is your opinion? Any usage ideas?

I believe that it can have some useful application as long as it does not become over-burdening like automated telephones which drive people crazy because they cannot talk to a human being.  AI maybe more helpful for very heavy content websites, e.g. some corporate websites that have not been organized from the early beginning, to help visitors find more specific answers.  I wouldn't think about it for writing / publishing articles because I feel that it cannot replace personal creativity and would produce cloned content.  The exception to this is for it to write what an author dictates.  A possible user benefit might be where a database of information is available, that a user might want to request an output of data verbally without any knowledge of programming.  It might also be useful in blocking spammers and hackers.  From my own experiences in technology from the early beginnings (1970's), improvements have been tremendous for email, websites, and programming but I still find that individuals do not make proper usage of what is available, e.g. using a word processor like a typewriter.  My last point is whether or not adding AI to a website would require a very powerful server and cost.

datahell:
Answer to your last sentence: No, it doesn't require a super duper server, and it costs nothing. There is already built-in support for AI in PHP (recommended 7.x+) and also some third party libraries. Although some say that PHP is not suitable for AI I disagree.

michalis1984:
I like this idea. Can be usefull. I don't know anything about AI support in PHP but can be used for chatbots (for a hotel booking website for example) as Datahell said. Maybe it can be used to smart select articles based on criteria to presented as featured (?).

chongbing:
It's very GREAT for these.
