I open this post in order to coordinate the upcoming Elxis 2009.0 translation work.
Elxis 2009.0 is very close (compatible) to the 2008.1 version but has some new features and a brand new look. Due to these new features, language files were updated. So, we need your help to add the new language strings to the language files. If we don't receive a translation in a language then these new strings will be added in English to that language. The translation takes only 1-2 hours of work as you have to translate only the differences between the 2008.1 and the 2009.0 version.
For each language we need to know who will be the translator in order to contact you directly and speed up the translation work.
How to volunteer?
Post a reply here or send me a personal message and declare that you will be charged the translation in one or more languages. We need your full name and optionally, your web site url (if any) and an e-mail address. Other users from the same country will be able to contact you for issues related a specific language. Here is a sample on how you should post a volunteer reply:

Enter inside the parenthesis the areas of Elxis that you will undertake the translation. All, or some of them
What is for translation?
1. Elxis front-end language files.
2. Elxis back-end language files.
3. Elxis installer language files.
4. Installation SQL data for the default Elxis content (optional). The SQL files are used to insert sample data during Elxis installation. By translating them we can have a just installed Elxis web site's content in any language. As the SQL files affect Elxis installer you must be very careful in your translation of that file and you must have basic knowledge of sql and html.
Translation in English, Greek and Serbian is done by Elxis Team internally. Volunteer for all other languages.

If your language is not listed above ask us to send you the full language pack in English in order to translate it in the new language.
Important
All language files must be UTF-8 encoded (use ps pad or other compatible text editor).

Elxis 2009.0 really rocks! Believe me that you will love this release. It is important to have it translated in as many languages as possible.

You may start translating Elxis 2009.0!
If Elxis is already translated in your language you can use the diff package or the full package.
If not, then you must translate the full language package.
I will soon publish the back-end language files too.

Ahmad in Elxis we have separated arabic language to the dialects bellow. In which one will you translate Elxis to? If you wish we can create a general arabic dialect named just "arabic" with ISO code "ar". It will look better and the URLs will be better using SEO PRO. If you prefer this solution tell me to include it in Elxis 2009.0.
