Title: Elxis + Flash !
Post by: CREATIVE Options on May 24, 2008, 20:04:28
Here is one of my latest projects, where some parts are still in progress.

Corfu Estate Construction Company (http://www.ikistiki.com/)

The website has now 2 languages Greek & English, the third language German right now doesn't have any content.
The flash wasn't made with dynamic text, and so the website has 2 separate templates with only one difference: the flash.

I am waiting for your comments please.

Very nice Niko!!!!!!!!!!! :)  2 comments from me:

1) That image on the left of every menu item.... it seems a bit big, comparatively to the font size.
2)  The linked titled "About Ikistiki"   too big or too bold. Try to change from blue to something more dark.

In General: SUPER!!!  ;D

Really nice job Sirigos! Very interesting  ;)

The same 2 comments as supernet. In addition, the only annoying thing for someone who spends a lot of time surfing in the "Development's Section" is the looped sound of the flash, every time you click on an item.

How can it be done ?

Is there any "flash" extension among Elxis' dowloads ?
Apparently, not yet.

(If possible, with a simple, crystal-clear explanation/help on the way to install such a "flash", without losing too much time.
It could enhance Elxis' visibility.

But if it's impossible to do that, just forget it)..

You just have to have the knowledge of:

1. Elxis
2. CSS
3. Flash

Step 1. Install the Elxis
Step 2. Create a template with flash object inside

That's it.

You ...have to have the knowledge of:

1. Elxis

2. CSS

3. Flash

Step 1. Install the Elxis

Step 2. Create a template

with flash object inside

....

=> That means that there is no "extension" to "download",
neither a "simple, crystal-clear explanation" on how to be easily installed by "all people who adopted Elxis"' "opensource" software,
without being obliged to lose time, money, security, etc. to ask a few specialists..

If it is (and remains) like this, OK, as already said, just "forget it"'...

Have you seen any similar module - components - mambot from the other CMS's ?

If yes, please inform us about this, so we can check it & make compatible if can be done.

For now if you need such a template you have to ask a professional to do it for you (if you can't do it).

Hey mate, what do you mean by saying "lose time and money" ?? The CMS wasn't done by itself. Many hours, days, months of work were dedicated in order, for you, to enjoy what you have in your hands completely free of charge.

RESPECT !!!  ::)

Strange question... Was it really necessary ?

Well, you are well placed to know that the answer, naturally is "Yes !"

=> Since you asked, here are some examples of similar solutions, taken from one "opensource" CMS, (among many others possible) :

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,254/Itemid,35/

What Sirigos has integrated on ikistiki.com isn't a slideshow but a Flash object. The solutions you mention above are just Slideshows.

Hey mate,

what do you mean ....

RESPECT !!!

Roll Eyes

We simply congratulated Sirigos,

and asked "if" it was possible to use it easily as "opensource".

This doesn't really deserve strange personal aggressions like yours...

...what do you mean by saying "lose time and money" ?? ...

We already "lost" much more than that...
(And not only us, but also many other persons who depend also from our contribution to collective activities affecting millions of people).

(See f;ex. the dates of some posts asking desperately a few clear and complete infos on how to install).

Certainly.

Whoever has really decided to dedicate himself to the philosophy of "OpenSource", deserves compliments, congratulations, "respect" and solidarity,

- for creating "free" software, made easily accessible to all people (i.e. with "downloads", "crystal-clear explanations" on "how to use", etc).

That's precisely THE point.

.. in order, for you, to enjoy what you have in your hands completely ...

For the moment, we only have a partially blocked site, without knowing how to fully use and develop it ! (Plus a series of damages from time wasted to desperately ask for clear, practical infos : Some of them worked, but others, not at all)...

But, despite that, we still hope that real "opensource" philosophy-motivated Elxis' creators would have enough conscience, ambition and capacity to make it "completely" work and be easily adopted by many People for interesting Website creations.

Yeah! Let's stay in subject. Im telling you again that Sirigos produced a Flash object and used it in that site. Its not a component or module.  ;)
