Title: How Can I move Elxis site from one hosting company to another? [Solved]
Post by: jpearl on July 29, 2009, 01:46:52
I installed and setup a demo site for my client on my own server. Now I have to move it to his.
I tried dumping the database with data and structure, reinstalling on new server and importing the original database but the site shows up with out any content or menus.

In the back end I can see all the content and menus. I also manually updated the configure file and updated the softfile but still nothing.

You don't have to install elxis again on target server. Just copy files, and import DB via MySql. Read this: http://wiki.elxis.org/wiki/Move_Elxis_from_a_sub-dir_to_the_root_dir it is all the same procedure as described here.

Great, thanks that solved it.
I tar balled my existing site then uploaded to the new site, and followed the instructions you referenced.
