Title: GrAvatar (?)
Post by: rentasite on March 23, 2012, 15:34:07

Hi! Lately i noticed (in the Comments area of an eBlog) that every user had the same avatar. Specifically, the following:

(http://i43.tinypic.com/244aycl.jpg) a Gravatar.com (http://en.gravatar.com) service!

First thought... i was hacked  ;D I downloaded the whole database and searched for the referenced image link, without any result. So i searched in eblog.html.php and on line 869 i found this:

Quote
$enable_gravatar = true; //set this to "false" if you want to disable gravatar images

and i have a 2 questions:

- When was this feature added?
- Why when it's set to TRUE... every user has the same image/avatar? Even those who have changed the Elxis default avatar!!

Hi!
Here is the Change log file regarding eForum Component :
Quote
- Version 1.1 fixes an SQL query. Users having installed eForum v1.0 download this patch to upgrade to version 1.1.

- Version 1.2 introduces TinyBox as an additional viewer for the attached images. Also fixes a read topics related bug, has Spanish language support and some more improvements. Users having installed eForum v1.1 download this patch to upgrade to version 1.2.

So perhaps this feature added from the 1st release of this component.
Users of eForum can use the Gravatar service in order to link his Gravatar profile with eForum Component. ;) If there is no Gravatar profile from each user then the attached image (as you posted above) is displayed.

Elxis Nautilus:
This feature is used for logged in users on Login Module.

I'm talking about eBlog component Stauro  :)

I saw this gravatar image after i upgraded to 2009.3 version of Elxis. Maybe it was a new addition or by default set to TRUE? anyway... never saw it again before!
